Abstract

Information Governance (IG) strategy is designed to operate business data in an efficient way while simultaneously guaranteeing credibility, legal security, data protection, and quality. With this goal, Information Governance (IG) has to follow certain regulatory compliance. It requires the design of an IG strategy independent of enterprise size or business model. The context for different IG strategies may vary considering region-specific laws and industry-specific regulations. IG-related software is provided by different vendors. With a standardized and generic blueprint, not only IG implementation procedures can be simplified, the consistency and scalability can also be ensured. Current studies have shown that a uniform service template for IG strategy enhances and accelerates the implementation and deployment of IG solutions, with different choices of software artifacts, across various existing cloud frameworks. With the growing adoption of cloud technology, bringing automated deployment and orchestration into IG solutions has become a necessity. This work investigates common characteristics of IG service design and topology. And it’s aiming to create Information Governance Services Domain Specific Language (IGSDSL) upon the foundation of Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications (TOSCA). IGSDSL translated service features, dependencies, and behaviors into TOSCA language, which can be parsed by TOSCA orchestrator and turned into an actual implementation. This work aims to design IG Service Types in a modularized and generic fashion. Using the pieces from IG Service Types, a final service template indicating the topology and parameter can be easily built up, deployed, and orchestrated.
