Abstract

In this work, a multilingual search engine has been implemented based on the Universal Networking Language (UNL). The software indexes documents in Spanish, a search for documents can be performed in one of the languages Spanish, English, Arabic and Russian. The search words are translated to UNL, the search is expanded by using a domain specific thesaurus and the resulting UNL search terms are translated to the index language (Spanish). The software is implemented on top of the Lucene search engine framework.
