Abstract

This bachelor thesis is about interaction with mobile devices with a special focus on the question: Does interaction really cause better retentiveness of information? This information shall be given by mobile end devices, for example a mobile application. To achieve a high number of people, a vocabulary trainer is a reasonable and simple possibility. Such an application can be created with different types of interaction. So it is not only possible to find out if interaction causes better retentiveness, but also if different types of interaction cause various levels of improvements.

At the beginning of the thesis hypotheses are drawn which will be confirmed or not confirmed at the end. Therefore a mobile application will be created and with the aid of a study with volunteers it is ordinary to get good results which can be surveyed.

The application is made with two phases. At first there is a learning process in which words can be learned with one type of interaction. Afterwards these words are tested in a different order. These two processes will be repeated with every single type of interaction, but of course with other words. Now it can be surveyed how retentiveness changes at every interaction.

After accomplishing the study this thesis shall outline if different types of interaction can cause better retentiveness by confirming or not confirming the hypotheses of the beginning.
