Kurzfassung | BACKGROUND: The topic of sentiment analysis is widely discussed in current conferences on software engineering. OBJECTIVE: In order to obtain a better understanding of the current research extent in the field and to identify potential future research areas the literature of the last five years will be analyzed in a structured way. METHOD: The paper uses the methods proposed by Petersen et al. [PFMM08] to develop a systematic map that presents the required overview. RESULTS: Research in the field of software engineering makes use of sentiment analysis. Research focuses mainly on opinion expressed in user reviews and software developer communication. CONCLUSIONS: The systematic map reveals that future research should focus on usage of sentiment analysis tools, requirements extraction for new software products, evaluation of software engineering models and methods.
