Abstract

Applications and their ever-improving technologies and growing areas of application ensure that the smartphone has become an indispensable part of our everyday lives. But while technology is on the rise, more and more environmental issues are emerging. Nowadays, it’s no longer just a question of when something is developed, but how it is developed. For this reason, scientists are researching topics such as energy consumption of smartphones. For this reason, this thesis is also concerned with introducing a model to predict the energy footprint of a running Android mobile application. This problem is addressed by examining components that can cause power consumption in an Android-based smartphone and then assigning them to different app types. This is sufficient to provide information about different components for different app types.
