Abstract

The increasing digitalization in industries demands new industrial requirements for communication. Deterministic communication standards, like TSN and DetNet, exist for wired networks. Scheduling with real-time requirements for wireless networks demands new research. Introducing wireless bridges to a network includes new uncertainty regarding the port-to-port delay for wireless bridges. Schedules for such networks need new approaches to guarantee real-time requirements. In this work, we model an approach to calculate robust schedules for real-time communication in networks with wireless and wired links. We use a constraint programming formulation to define the schedule definition. We then use a dumbbell network to generate a concrete schedule for this network and we evaluate it in a simulation environment. The calculated schedule performed as intended in the simulation environment. All data streams meet their deadline in the simulation.
