Abstract

Objective of this master thesis (Diplomarbeit) was the investigation of the possibilities of workflow management in mobile computing environments. The analysis of the requirements for support of mobile clients in workflow management systems, led to the distinctions between the needs of the workflow system and the applications of the workflow on mobile devices. Different sources of information about the data required by the applications have been identified and proposals of the use of this information were made. The necessary changes to the system architecture are described in the thesis. The resulting prototype system was tested briefly to show the feasibility of the approach.
