Kurzfassung

Workflow technology is widely used in the business world to coordinate activities as efficiently as possible. Important aspects in this context are the integration of existing applications and the interoperability of workflow management systems of separate enterprises.

Regarding standardization to overcome interoperability problems, the Object Management Group OMG has published a Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) for middleware platforms and diverse application like e. g. the Workflow specification. This specification is treating workflows as if they were CORBA objects.

In this theses, the workflow management system MQ Series Workflow by IBM was used to implement the OMB Workflow Management Specification and integrate it into TAO, the Object Request Broker Implementation of the University of Washington, USA.
