Zusammenfassung

SESAM (Software Engineering Simulation durch Animierte Modelle) ist ein Forschungsprojekt der Abteilung Software Engineering (SE) des Instituts für Softwaretechnologie der Universität Stuttgart. Bei SESAMhandelt es sich um ein Simulationssystem, welches für die Ausbildung von zukünftigen Projektleitern, wie zum Beispiel Studenten, gedacht ist. Mithilfe dieses Simulationssystems können Softwareprojekte anhand von Modellen durchgeführt werden, wobei die Teilnehmer der Simulation mit den typischen Problemen eines Projektleiters konfrontiert werden. Das SESAM-Projekt existiert seit 1989 und wird seitdem kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt. So sind im Laufe der Zeit zahlreiche Werkzeuge und Modelle entstanden. Die Wartung des Projekts findet dabei ausschließlich in der Abteilung SE statt. Dieser Zustand soll langfristig geändert werden, dafür ist die Umwandlung von SESAM in ein Open-Source-Projekt angedacht. In dieser Arbeit werden verschiedene Konzepte für eine Zukunft von SESAM erarbeitet, darunter auch SESAM als Open-Source-Projekt. Das Konzept der SESAM-Pakete wird dabei umgesetzt. Für jeden Anwendungszweck von SESAM existiert somit ein Paket, das alle dafür benötigten Bestandteile des SESAMProjekts zusammenfasst und zur Verfügung stellt. Dies ermöglicht eine einfache Verwendung der einzelnenWerkzeuge und erstmals eine komfortable Verteilung der Software.

Abstract

SESAM (Software Engineering Simulation by Animated Models) is a research project of the Software Engineering Department at the Institute of Software Technology at University of Stuttgart. This simulation system was developed to support the education of future project manager, for example students. With this system software projects based on models can be executed. The participants of the simulation are confronted with typical problems of a project manager. The SESAM project exists since 1989 and has been under development all the time. In the course of time numerous tools and models have been created. The maintenance of the project is executed by the Software Engineering Department. This state shall be changed in the long run and for that it is supposed to transform SESAM into an open source project. In this diploma thesis several concepts for a future of SESAM are developed, including SESAM as open source project. Thereby the concept of SESAM packages is realized. For each use case of SESAM exists a package, which contains all needed elements of the SESAM project. This offers an easy use of the single tools and a comfortable way to distribute the software.
