Kurzfassung

Recent scientific work in the field of business processes introduced the concept of process fragments to allow externalization of partial knowledge representing reusable business aspects. In this thesis we provide the means to recognize process fragments in existing business processes independent of their concrete language. This is required to recognize abstract knowledge represented and integrated as process fragments. Such methods can be used for example to mark and highlight compliance aspects or to find process fragments in legacy processes. While we keep our concept independent from the used business process language we show exemplarily how WS-BPEL processes can be used as input source and we develop an extensible prototype implementing those concepts. To support the later visualization and emphasis of process fragments in the toolchain we sketch a concept for the storage of visualization metadata within the WS-BPEL language.
