Kurzfassung

The simulation of automotive occupant safety systems on the computer is an essential and accepted tool for functional development in the automotive domain. With a continuously growing data and the increasing complexity of automotive electronics a simulation environment for occupant safety systems requires an enormous amount of computing capacity. Due to the used monolithic simulation environment the run-time for simulations pushes the patience of users to the edge. Therefore it is desirable to parallelize such simulations and to use modern technologies for “Distributed Computing”. This thesis is divided into three areas. In the first part the automotive occupant safety simulation and the existing simulation platform will be the topic. The second part deals with solution approaches and their implementation. The third part handles two implementationsthat integrate the existing simulation platform in a distributed computing simulation application and compares them on the basis of evaluation criteria. With the results, a reference is made which of the implementation-approaches is better suited for a new development of the simulation platform.
