Kurzfassung | Palladio is a software component modeling approach that focuses on the prediction of quality properties. Today, many companies provide cloud applications using cloud environments on a pay-per-use basis. The evaluation of quality properties of such cloud applications, e.g., regarding scalability, elasticity and cost-efficiency, is of great importancetoday. Therefore, itisnecessarytoresearchtheapplicabilityofPalladiowhich is required to support and improve this evaluation process. The case study conducted for this purpose evaluates the model-driven architecture simulator Palladio for the purpose of evaluating the scalability, elasticity and cost-efficiency of a cloud-based architecture. For the industrial case examined in this case study, Palladio provides sufficient accurate prediction results of a cloud-based architecture and enables the execution of industrial scenarios to evaluate scalability, elasticity, and cost-efficiency. Thus, the application of Palladio can support the goal of many companies to provide cost-efficient, highly scalable and elastic cloud applications in similar cases.
