Abstract

Quantum computing is a growing research area, and the demand of corresponding software is also growing. Quantum software plays a key role to exploit the full potential capacity of quantum computing systems.To this end, the development of Quantum software is drawing more and more attention recently.But how to develop a better software is still lack of relevant researches. A term "quantum software engineering" is introduced to guide the development. Based on the observations, this paper provides a survey of the state of the art research approaches in the quantum software engineering field, finds their characteristics of the engineering, and presents the opportunities and the challenges that we must face. This survey summaries the papers about quantum-based software, answers 4 research questions to understand the quantum software engineering.
