The ”BTW” is a biennial conference series focusing on a broad range of topics addressing database management for Business, Technology, and Web. BTW 2011 as its 14th event took place in Kaiserslautern from March 2nd to 4th. This volume contains 24 long and 6 short papers selected for presentation at the conference, 9 industrial contributions, 3 papers or abstracts for the invited talks, 12 demonstration proposals, a panel description, and a paper written by the winner of the dissertation award. The subject areas include core database technology such as query optimization and indexing, DBMS-related prediction models, data streams, processing of large data sets, Web-based information extraction, benchmarking and simulation, and others.
