Kurzfassung

Abstract

In the last few years, the propagation and development of Business Process Management increased very fast and efficient, especially in relation to major enterprises. It is more than a hype, because lots of enterprises from different sectors have dealt with this topic. In general, the benefits of BPM outweigh its costs, for example processes speed up, accuracy increases, customer satisfaction grows and costs are reduced. Therefore many enterprises decided upon Business Process Management. These findings are related mostly to major enterprises, small and mid-tier businesses are hardly recognized in various surveys. The purpose of this study research project is to explore the degree of propagation especially in German mid-tier businesses. In consequence of the increasing importance of BPM, for many enterprises it begs the question, at what size and situation of the business it is useful to use Business Process Management
