Abstract

The timely detection of cell outages or sleeping cells is a major problem for network operators. To reduce cost of the current largely manually performed detection, automated detection algorithms are desired. This paper presents a detection algorithm for base stations experiencing a failure in its high frequency components, based on the neighbor cell list reporting of mobile terminals attached to neighbor base stations.
