How to find us
By Plane - From the Airport to the University Campus
From the airport there are direct connections by S-Bahn to the University
campus at Vaihingen (where our building is located). From the arrival hall,
follow the  signs that lead you to
the underground S-Bahn station. The trains to your destination
station "Universität" leave from Track 2 ("Gleis 2").
Both lines leaving the airport (S2 and S3) for the city
centre ("Richtung Stuttgart" or "Richtung Hauptbahnhof") from
Track 2 ("Gleis 2") are going via "Universität".
The trip takes 16 minutes.
The ticket from Stuttgart airport (station "Flughafen") to the campus
(station "Universität") costs EUR 2.15. Ticket machines  are located near the escalators that lead down to the platform.
Enter "240" (the code for destination "Universität") or "002" (the code for 2 zones)
and then insert the money.
(Of course, another possibility is to take a taxi. It is more convenient, but it could cost you up to EUR 25.)
Once you arrive at "Universität", follow the instructions given in the section From the S-Bahn station "Universität" to our building.

By Train - From the main station to the University Campus
|
Stuttgart's main train station ("Hauptbahnhof") has direct connections
by S-Bahn to the University campus at Vaihingen (where our building is
located). When you leave your train at Hauptbahnhof,
follow the signs that lead
you underground.
Trains to your destination station "Universität" leave from
Platform 101 ("Gleis 101"). You can take lines
S1 ("Richtung Herrenberg"), S2 ("Richtung Filderstadt"),
or S3 ("Richtung Flughafen"). The trip takes 10 minutes.
The ticket from the main station ("Hauptbahnhof") to the campus
("Universität") costs EUR 2.15. Ticket machines are located near the escalators leading down to the platform.
Enter "240" (the code for destination "Universität") or "002" (the code for 2 zones)
and then insert the money.
Hint: Do not buy an extra ticket for the S-Bahn trip if your
train ticket says "Stuttgart + City". In that case, your train
ticket gives you one free ride inside Stuttgart.
Warning: Some of the S1, S2, or S3 trains may terminate one station before "Universität". This is case with trains whose destination is
"Schwabstraße".

From the S-Bahn station "Universität" to our building
There are two exits from the S-Bahn, which you can both take.
On the following map the S-Bahn-exits and the computer science building are marked.
You can easily spot our building which is a modern construction with aluminium and glass walls.
Our offices are situated in southwest corner of the first floor (see map [here]).
By Car

Take either the Autobahn A8 (from Munich / Karlsruhe), A81 (from Singen / Heilbronn) to the intersection 51 "Autobahnkreuz Stuttgart". From there turn off onto the A831 toward the city of Stuttgart ("Stuttgart-Zentrum") and exit at "Universität". Now turn left at the first traffic lights and reach the university campus. Follow signs to find a parking place.
