ABSTRACT

This directory contains the Military Standard Defense System Software
Development release.  Its purpose is to 1) Create one Dod documentation
standard; 2) Resolve issues in applying Dod Standard 2167A and Data Item 
Descriptions; 3) Become compatable with recent changes in the military.
This standard replaces the following:
  DOD-STD-2167A
  DOD-STD-7935A
  DOD-STD-1703NS

This standard has been numbered MIL-STD-498.
