ABSTRACT

ASSET_A_173: SEE Framework and Object Manager Comparison Report
A framework provides the facilities necessary to build a Software
Engineering Environment (SEE). These include a repository to store the
project data, tool and data integration facilities, and facilities to
define and control the engineering process. There are currently a
number of existing and proposed frameworks. This document compares four
specifications for framework services (A Tool Integration Standard, the
Common Ada Programming Support Environment Interface Set, the
Portable Common Tool Environment, and Engineering Information Services)
in the areas of process and policy management, database capabilities,
and tool integration.
